Default should I get a 6.0 gas or duramax?

In the market for a truck but Im not sure if I should go gas or diesel. Either way itd probably sit quite a bit bc I have a trans am for daily driver in the summer. Truck would be used for pulling a 20ft gooseneck with a skid loader or 10,000lb tractor at most. What do you guys suggest? any particular yrs to look extra hard at or stay away from?

Duramax for towing hands down. IIRC, people recommend the LBZ duramax but not sure what years that would be.

Duramax is your only choice if you want to haul that much.

Unless you never have a hill to climb.

04.5 -up Dmax is the way to go.

+ 1 if you're towing get the Dmax.
If you were wanting something to go fast for fairly cheap I'd get the gasser. Diesels cost a lot to mod or even work on, or even change the oil on. But make some serious tq that you need for towing.

Def dmax not only for tq purpose but fuel mileage too. If u have to tow or even drive the 6.0 3/4 ton much it will drink the gas like no other. I am sure they are lil more economic in the half tons but towing and mileage it's almost not even a question when comparing. Although maintainence might be higher but will level out in long run

Look for an 8.1, about the same mileage as the 6.0 but you get the allison trans and a **** ton of power, 350 horse and 400+ torque

You'd probably end up paying someone to beat some sense into you if you bought a 6.0 truck for towing a 20 foot gooseneck... I wouldn't say the 8.1 is a good alternative either, because it does not get the same mileage as a 6.0... Regardless, hook a trailer up to either one and they will suck down the gas. Diesel FTW if you plan on extensive towing.

Duramax! Itll pull better and use less fuel doing it, then when your tired of it you can still get some coin for it.
