Back again... again? 2006 Sierra ECSB
Well I picked up an 8.1 Burb a while ago and the wife ended up not liking the leveling kit and 9 mpg... Can't say I'm surprised I just kinda hoped she would ignore it
So I sold the low mileage hard to find 4x4 8.1 burb and got her a 2005 Yukon Denali XL. She loves the touchscreen, sunroof, not having to climb up with two kids, and the heated leather... it's pretty clean for the mileage and the 6.0 isn't too bad compared to the 8.1. I'll play with it down the road Now to the fun stuff, I needed a vehicle to DD when not at work and play with to keep me from tearing into her Yukon... after thinking it through I missed the hell out of my Red Sierra from several years ago so I began the hunt for a 05-06 Sierra 2WD ECSB to fill the void and hold my kids with the backseat.
I found one in North Georgia that had a ton of miles and the 4.8 was showing it's age. Knowing I was going to rip into it anyway I drove down and picked it up, pretty straight and very clean for it's age and mileage. Bought it from the original owner who worked out of it.
W/T with the folding center seat, roll down windows, and carpet. Pretty basic but as I see it a blank canvas. Here is the earliest picture I took of it, had clear tails and chrome fender trim... Not my style so the debadging happened quick and I picked up some eBay Silvy tails.
Here it is after I cleaned it up and wasn't embarrassed to drive it.
Fast forward to last month, I knew the motor was hurt but wasn't sure how bad. After digging in I saw oil and water combined and knew I needed to figure something out before it got too bad. Picked up a 5.3 out of a wrecked Tahoe (wanted a 6.0 but never could find one in budget that didn't need work). Out with the old, in with the new...
While I was at it I put shackles on and installed tires on the wheels I found for a steal on CL...
So here it is today, a lot of plans but definitely taking it slow. Work has me covered up and with two young kids there's not much room in the calendar or budget for much. Short term is a tune and colormatched/fog light front bumper. Long term is interior refresh with leather and we'll see where my left foot takes me, I do miss the blower whine and torque of the maggie...

So I picked up a leftover OEM foglight kit for the truck... which is at my dad's house... because I moved back to Alaska... Pretty sure progress has slowed on this project Pumped to have foglights to install at Christmas though lol.
At least I have the presence of mind to keep it around, I hated selling the red truck (much farther along than this obviously) and I don't want to lose the wheels/Corsa/tune/etc I've already thrown at it... Too bad I didn't go with a 4x4.
