Default 706 questions Help!

Hey guys!

So im trying to decide what to get head wise. I have my 01 stock heads 706. No they arent leaking no coolant loss nothing. Im trying to find out some info on these heads so i can save some money.

Would my 706 heads be Notched like the 853s? Ive heard that earlier 862 heads have the notch but found nothing o 706. I ask because i already have head gaskets MLS of course and dont wanna use the crappy other gaskets. Also there is a year differnce with those gaskets with 99-01 and 02-06... i was planning on buying a set of 04 706 heads but i can save some money with pulling mine and using a machine shop to do a valve job and freshen up the heads. Any info would help!

Are the the castech 706 heads? If they are, probably not worth the time and money to use them, if they arent castech you should be fine using your heads!

Pull valve cover and rocker stands and look for the little battery looking casting mark...

Idk why they make gaskets for 99-01 and 02-06. Maybe just a felpro thing?
