Default 6ft bed weight

Does anyone know how much the bed off a 99-06 weights with tailgate? I searched and found one site that says 320 but just want to confirm. Reason being is i need to measure for my driveshaft and the shop said it needs to be at full weight or the length could change. The bed is not with the truck, it's at the garage where it got painted and I don't wanna risk putting it on a trailer and it getting scratched up like it did getting it there

Its more than that, especially with the tailgate, id say closer to 500lbs

FWIW, My buddy and I lifted mine off without the tailgate. I had it on a cart for awhile and stood it up on end by myself. I think 3xxlbs is a fair estimate on weight. I also have a 550lb plate of steel in my garage that doesn't lift as easy

X2
Me and a friend removed my bed as well, and placed onto a cart, they are in the 3xx lb. range w/o the tailgate. But when we replaced the old bed with the new bed( had 1/4" spray liner all through out bed ) it took 4x people to lift it. FWIW

You are both saying without tailgate, and both that i have moved has had spray in liners fwiw. I have moved one around/flipped myself, and lifted one with another persons help, i still think its closer to 500 than 300 with a tailgate..
And i guess you need to get a bigger set of ***** for that steel plate next time you move it

Lmao..I have moved it off the truck and onto a trailer with me and my brother. I know it was pretty heavy but figured it was because we had a bad grip (cab and tailgate side)

This may help you the next time you have to move the bed by yourself on the truck. Jack the truck up and pull the rear wheels and let the axle droop as far as it will go and put the frame on jack stands (not the axle ) and "slide" the bed across the frame rails
