Default 5.3 Chevy vs. 5.0 Ford?

Would my 2011 5.3 Silverado 1500 extended cab with 3.42 gearing have a chance againt a 2011 5.0 Crew cab Ford F150? I think that 5.0 Ford is rated at 360 hp., my 5.3 only 315. Ford is probably heavier being a crew cab.

From what I'm reading is that the 5.0s are runnin 15.5-15.7s.. Good run for your money IMHO

Depending what the Ford's rev limit is set at, Im gonna say the Ford would probably edge you out. Those new 5.0s are pretty stout but make more of their power on the upper end.

yeah we have rclb 2wd 5.0's at uhaul and they have some good power, but they should really shift about 500rpms higher, i think its set at 5500 but could be shifting because of horrible traction in the lot.

So it looks like stock for stock my 5.3 Silverado would have trouble staying with a 5.0 Ford. 45 hp difference is quite a lot. Still like my Chevy!

The Fords do have lower gearing with a 3.55 rear and the following tranny gears:

Ford:
1st 4.17
2nd 2.34
3rd 1.52
4th 1.14
5th 0.87
6th 0.69

Silverado
1st 4.02
2nd 2.36
3rd 1.53
4th 1.15
5th 0.85
6th 0.67
