what did you get the nv3500 out of?

A rebuilt one was $1600 New GM one with no core $1950 CAD funds... went with the new one from the dealer for the warranty, but odds are I better take it out if it needs warranty before rolling in with a 6.0L in front of it with some shiny headers. lol

How does the trans feel holding the extra power?

The NV3500s seem so bloody noisy to start off I dont know, my 2003 always wined in second, this one does too when just cruising around idle. Under power she works and sounds fine so far, also so far hasn't grenaded but Ill keep my fingers crossed. I am considering it a disposable item on this setup as I don't want the granny gear on the NV4500 so I am trying her out. If I cook it a few times ill dish out the cash to have a Corvette one modified for a t case, but for now its the cheap option.

Drives much nicer than the 4.3L, has 3.73s so she seems to cruise a little high on the highway rpm wise vs my 2012, but its a toy so im good with that for a better accel. also I need a locking diff still and or to get my 4x4 working to feel serious fastd out of the hole. I just cook a tire currently and shift to second then get rolling.

Ill be back at the track once I get 4x4 going a locking diff and my exhaust on. Lots of room to improve yet, but with a crappy launch she hit 95mph in the 1/4 so I have hope!

Beautiful work! I like the Decals on the HD hood

How does it drive much better then the 4.3 im sure!
Do you have plans to take it to the track?

Not sure about problems 1 2 and 4.
For exhaust After doing the kooks headers depending on future upgrades I would do a 3 or 4 inch single exit right out the passenger side before the axle.
Just find a muffler you like and have a local shop do it. Will probably be cheaper and more custom!

Post more pictures!

It's been a while since I've tuned mine but on #4 check the sensitivity on the knock sensors. I know with headers they tend to pick up false detonation. I especially had this issue after going mudding until I pressure washed it all out.

Awesome build good luck

I need to hit the track now. She has a 3" exhaust now with the largest Magnaflow, 22" with a offset. Still loud but not a harsh loud.

4x4 is all sorted out! It was a simple tap into the harness and now the solenoid goes when I shift into 4x4, I left out the wire to the ECU as I believe I need to add a wire from the fuse box to ECU plug for that I believe.

Rolling Idle is fixed asides partial warmed up, still gets me once and a while.

Thinking of tapping into trailer lights for reverse lights as they are working, simple fix.

Cheers

Feels like the projects done now, just quirks to fix up!

Love the NV3500 if it holds up! so far so good... The gearing is far sportier than the NV4500.

6x 12563485 Flywheel bolts (29mm)

12561680 FLYWHEEL

Hope that helps you out!

So Track closed for the season early this year! they got scared of a bit of rain at mission and Ill need to wait for next year.

Drivability is great now that shes all tuned in, and reverse lights are figured out.

Snuck it onto the mustang dyno at work. That dyno is a heart breaker and reads 100 hp lower than most inertia dynos. Also had to run in 3rd 4th is too fast for the tires at 6000 RPM

What does everyone think? does 300 to the rear wheels suit the mods or should I be looking for more? Also btw ran one run without the K&N filter and gained 15 HP! Anyone have suggestions to a higher flowing filter than K&N???

Let me know what you guys think, Is she down on power or on par for Kooks headers, Y with Cats, 3" exhaust, Tune, Mild Cam, Air Aid Tube....

Thanks!

(Ignore the Spartan on the dyno sheet, it was on the dyno earlier that day, we still adjusted parasitics for my wheels)

thanks for the part numbers, think you can get the number for the shift boot. I'm having a hard time finding it
