thanks to this thread i have decided on the XR265HR cam! thought about the xr259 but i hear the rule is to always go up one cam you want and being 50/50 on these two and now to read all this 265 it is.....plus i will have to work with stock stall for awhile as its a slow process....

I bought one of the sets from that ebay auction for $110. I am normally not a fan of buying used injectors but these were literally 1-2 mile old take-offs. Considering what the injectors sell for at cost from a stealership it was a screaming deal for literally brand new injectors.

Excellent thread!! I have the same cam and it's going in my '06 5.3 next Monday, a tune is next. I read you set the shift points at 6300rpms, what is the recomended rpms shift points for this cam?

I'll keep the stock pushrods as I read it's ok to keep them with such a small cam. Besides my truck doesn't have a lot of miles.

I think I am going to get the same cam, I am pretty sure it is too large for stock springs but are LS6 springs ok?

Would there be much change in power output between the low lift version of this cam and the high lift???

Based on the dyno graph 6300 rpm looks about optimum which is why I set it there. You really need to get past the peak a decent amount because of how far down the RPMs drop on the shift and to get the most out of the new powerband that cam provides.

The valve events are radically different if I remember correctly and the high lift version appears move the powerband way too high IMO for what I was trying to accomplish.
