Default Aluminum drive shaft?????????????

Would going from a steel to aluminum drive shaft help increase the life of the tranny since the trans doesn't have to rotate nearly as much weight or at least increase acceloration?
BTW does anyone know what part # I need for a Dennys aluminum drive shaft for my 99 rc/sb sierra?

I would think so. Less mass to fling. I however don't know the part number.

Good luck, boot.

My Tahoe came with a factory aluminium driveshaft,it sure didn't help keep the transmission togather I broke 6 transmissions and one rearend, but I never hurt the driveshaft.

not sure if it was the weather or the shaft, but .17 secs in the 1/4.

the upgraded yoke and u joints made the squeeling quit at high mph shifts, so no more binding.
