Typhoon intake
New to this site, trying to find out if this will fit on my engine and if so would take be a good deal? I have an 08 1500 silverado on 35x12.5x20 tires, 4x4 with the 5.3l, ported heads, dual exhaust from the manifolds back, cats deleted, MagnaFlow mufflers, Cai, I just ordered a tuner and I'm thinking about doing a cam swap with the lunati voodoo 212/218 cam. Any help and information would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hey that is the intake in Siloam springs, AR. I've had my eye on that. I don't think the intake would be much of an upgrade on a lifted truck if it even works without changing some other stuff. It has a cable driven throttle body and I'm not sure your electric will swap over. So you would have to convert your truck to cable drive. We will let the pros answer though. Welcome to the site, its a great place to learn how to spend your money.

I like tbw much better than this computerized crap. I've never had such bad throttle response in any other vehicle I've owned. I know these stock heads are supposed to be pretty good as far as air flow just wasn't sure if this would be much better or not. I also want to upgrade my fuel pump and injectors.

It would work being its for cathedral port heads which is what your 5.3 has but that dbc throttle body is useless for your truck. Would have to put a lot more money into making it fit your motor with the truck accessories (water pump, fittings, lines) which wouldn't be worth any gain it would give you. Stick with your stock intake or a FAST LSXRT, won't see any worth while gains from that intake especially being aluminum. Just be a giant heat sink.

you won't get much better than the NBS/TBSS intake for a truck, every
thing else losses to much bottom end. as for bad DBW T/B response,
get it tuned. nite and day diff. do you have the better 243/799 heads
on your truck ?
