Yeah the comments had me scratching my head a little bit. Is Flaco persona-non-grata around here or something?

I would not go 4.10s, if it was my truck. I'd try going with a shorter tire. You have the low end with the PD blower.

Not sure how the trans is still alive

I was jus thinkn on going to a 295/50 from 275/60 and leaving 3:42's.. it's my daily driver and I really don't play hard in it, this 4L60E has been a GREAT trans! This truck has over 207,000 miles on it! Lol about 5,000 with the whipple and I just put the cam in

The 4l60 is inherently weak but it's a much more pleasant trans to DD than the 80e if you can make it live

My comment was mean't to be funny.

Yeah, he's a hell of a guy. Talked with him a bunch and have a ton of respect for the dude.

I just thought the title was funny because everytime some comes over to the house or sees my truck on the trailer they are like "do you know flaco". He's rock star status down here in Texas.

Flaco seems like a cool dude. So does he still have a shop or just does work on the side? Thought last I heard he had closed down.

You could say he's around.

Huh, I put his FB link in here and it looks like the forum eats it? It works for me and is current... Anyway you can look him up on FB, "Flacos Performance + Tuning" and check out Cornfed

Personally I like the way 80E drives better. It is much better to daily than the shitty 4L60E ever was. The 80E has closer gearing. Passing and accelerating up to speed is much better once rolling than that huge 1-2 rpm drop of the 60E. The 80E has a steeper first gear and looser converter than the stock 4L60E which makes it easier driving in bumper to bumper traffic. You are not standing on the brakes to keep from rolling, it just idles and sits until you give it throttle. With 3.73s it was also nice to be able to mash on the throttle and get a 4-2 downshift running 70 mph. With 3.73s I also turned about 200 rpm more at 70 with the 4L80E which helps keep the thing from having to downshift as much on steeper hills on the interstate.

If you hammer on the 4L60E it will come apart no matter how well it is built. If you are going to stand on it from a roll, manually downshift it before you give it much throttle. 3-1 kickdown is how I broke my well built 4L65E behind a mild 350.

I've seen a couple vids of cornfed, things insane. I saw a video of it racing this little green truck. Not sure if it was an s10 or what but it smoked flaco so I was really impressed by it, someone on here might know what truck I'm talking about.
