Lightbulb stock 2005 5.3 chevy 1500 need advice

What's up guys, as my name implies i'm a new chevy owner. I have a bone stock 2005 chevy 1500 crew cab non 4x4. I'm saving for a 5.0 but would like to add some power to my daily in the mean time. It has the 5.3 and my budget is roughly 2 grand, any suggestions helps. I'm looking for raw power not so much quick handling and such. thanks!

How hard is the labor for that? I honestly don't know too much about Chevy motors whatsoever and have the itch to make this a project truck. I'm in Oklahoma so I don't have any emissions testing either. Thanks for the quick response I'm looking into prices as we speak!

Would I need to upgrade anything separate or does the kit include this?
