so for the OP, i'd suggest a 3" y-pipe into your choice of 3" straight-through muffler with at least 18-24" of pipe before dumping. you could also do a 3" in, dual 2.5" out muffler with dual 2.5" tail pipes with some 4x22" tips to get a nice, deep, resonant tone as well that'll be almost as loud outside but a little quieter in the cab.

my truck was dumped for the longest time & even i hollered uncle about 5yrs ago. at first, i was a little disappointed at how much quieter it was, then i put on LT headers which helped a bit. then after i was standing behind it during a dyno run and realized it was still louder than a lot of the cat-back LS3 camaros that day, i was quite pleased

I want that aggressive roar off the pavement to intimidate, however running rich stuck at a light not very pleasant. I am working on my tune tho. Good tune, good çai, long tubes and free flowing exhaust is the begging to any horsepower no matter what you add.

I also already have speed engineering long tubes, speed engineering are out of stock on the "true dual" kits so I will have to wait a month. I will let you know if I notice a difference until I can get on the dyno.

Just for perspective. A G8 GXP had 400 crank HP and came with a 2.25 average diameter dual exhaust with X pipe.

The video was very interesting. You really don't loose so much HP with the 2.5 dual exhaust especially considering how much you are making.
