Pushrod checker... You may need longer pushrods.... Sounds like your preload is a little light... Due to the cam....

How do I properly set preload? Seems like it's louder on the passenger side then the driver side

With the proper length pushrods.... Thereis a thread that goes in depth on it somewhere on here... But the stock pushrods, iirc, give you right at the minimum preload, and if the base circle of the cam is smaller than stock you need longer rods... Im sure someone will chime in with the proper spec off the top of their head, but i wanna say you want something like .060-.080 preload to quiet down the valve train, if youre running stock pushrods which are something like 7.395 you probably need to step up to a 7.425 or maybe even a 7.450... Again these are just off top of my head, and i may be wrong, but pushrods length checking tool is like $20...and a lot cheaper than buying two or three sets of pushrods to try and see...

One thing that makes me think it's lifters or possibly something else is that the noise is mainly on the passenger side, noise was on passenger side before and it's still there on passenger side. Possible rockers?
