Cam selection for the LQ4
looking to throw a cam in my 00 1500 with an LQ4 6.O standard bore
Mods consist of the usual for a DD: LT's, CAI, 2.5 Y pipe to a Flowmaster Daul 3" tips. 3.42 gears. Jasper stage2 2800 stall (will be upgrading). I am sending my 317's out for 5 angle p&p and full valve job. Cam recommended to get this thing moving goes as follows...
Option #1 223/227 .610/614 112
Option #2 238/244 .605/.612 114+2LSA
Having trouble deciding, but I want a powerful run not requiring boost.
My build has come to a stand still!

I have LTs to go on my exhaust and will be having my exhaust redone once I complete the swap. Also will go to a 32-3500 stall. Thanks for the input guys.

oh well that would help out and allow for a larger cam but i would still go with option 1 as the other is a little too big IMO. With the larger stall and better flowing exhaust/heads you have planned you could go with something in the low 230s though

Why is there nothing inbetween the two choices? I essentially run the same exact cam as option 1, and I can tell you it's very mild in a 6.0 and dies off up top rather quickly. I'd go with a cam in the low to mid 230s myself, and probably seeing myself making that change here soon.

First thing that I would do is lose the 3.42's...also, what size tire are you running and what are your intentions for the truck and your goals?
