Default Pro's vs Con's to going Catless??

As I am looking at putting LT headers on my 2000 5.3 I am also looking to delete the CAT so it is just the headers into the Y pipe then the Cat back system I already have! Any thoughts on the Pros and Cons of this?? I live in MI so we dont have smog inspections by the way ;-)

Ya I dont mind the smell at all, hell that is how it is suppose to smell!! How much extra noise are you getting? Any Raspyness? I run a stock setup with a flowmaster cat back currently (Super 40). I am going with a Doug Thorley LT Headers and Cat Back....hopeing they will balance out.

Don't use a flowmaster for sure, the drone will drive you nuts from 55-65 with no cats

Thanks!! I was looking at the Doug Thorley System, they say it is a deeper but quieter sound like the Magnaflows.

Mine is quite a bit louder without cats and Raspy too. Terrible drone at highway speeds around 2000 rpm. American Racing headers, 3" duals into 3" dual inlet/outlet Magnaflow with dual 3" tailpipes.
