I recently bought a cam from TSP, called up a shop near me and they wanted to charge $1700 for install, another $500+ to tune. Anyone know of any shops near Houston, Port Arthur area.

Damn, they must want to remove the whole engine to charge $1700. Even if labor rates were like 100 an hour, it should be done in less than 8 hours going slow if you supplied all the parts.

They told me it would be a 17 hour job. I'm like damn, I might have to do it myself.

Welcome to the forum. If your mechanically inclined at all you can do it yourself. Then just have someone tune it.

I was quoted 2300 for my blower install so I did it myself. Cant say I enjoyed it but no issues and a lot of $$ saved.

Yeah I can do I just didn't want to, laziness is all, lol. But oh well, now I'll get to spend a weekend doing that and installing the headers sometime after I'm back on days.
