That O2 location has been revised with the addition of the collector spikes and collector revision according to what I have read. where that thread is?, I'm sorry I don't remember. possibly here in the sponsor section.

I have personally have seen and handled Kooks, SW and Speed eng headers side by side.
Yes there is a fairly significant difference in quality of materials, welds and overall appearance.
But and this is a big but..
With the latest revision of the speed eng headers other than primary material thickness and their finish.
In my opinion the difference in the headers no longer justifies the vast cost increase for the kooks or Stainless works, or any other 900$ header for that matter.

Just wrap the hump and enjoy the savings. Mine bolted right up love my el cheapo ebay headers. Quality was impressive too.

total under 450$ for ceramic coated, wrapped stainless 1 3/4" headers, with collector spikes, that have no fitment issues..
Try and beat that..

/end thread

You know that's not the equivalent of having headers ceramic coated right...

So speed engineerin or obx it seems like speed has basically matched obx but does obx stl have a better design?

03sierraslt, If It reduces my temps to the point I can wrap my hand around a primary after a freeway pull and not have my flesh seared and stuck to the primary. Its good enough for me.

Anybody want to comment on the Speed Engineering headers fit and finish? I'm also in the market for some 1 3/4" LTs for my truck in the ~$500 range.

Yes they are stainless

I have installed many sets. they are superb, both fit and finish.
So much so I will never recommend another brand of headers to anyone who asks.

Only fitment issue I have had is with 4WD. the Y pipe cross over needs to be "oval" not round. Don't crush it or dent it. just make it oval and it clears the Drive shaft easily.

One thing you might want to do before assembly. Take the Merge and have a 02 bung welded on. use it for your wideband 02 sensor. this one simple mod makes life so much simpler down the road.

Look into the sponsor section for Speed Eng thread. The last 10 pages details all of the improvements they have made to the headers.
