Saw a nnbs little bit ago 4.8 sc longtube running ory with cat after the y pipe conection... With a single outlet with kind of a turn down at the last bend in yhe factory tailpipe..... If i hadnt already gone through the hassle of running duals, id probably go with something similar...especaially if it hadnt cost me as much as it has.... Amazing how quickly it starts racking up when you arent happy with how a system sounds and is built and your buddy tosses part of your exhaust system because hes leaving his wife and scrapping everything that might have metal in it.... Then realize the shortys you have are for 5.3 not 6.0...

Had to modify it to get the muffler that came with to bolt up..... It seems they cut the right and left side out of the same stick of pipe.. And they cut the driver side too far forward by about 3.5-4 inches and i had to "add"it to the first section of the driver side tail pipe..the front slip joint where the driver side cat slides into the extension pipe was expanded to damn near 3 inches for what was supposed to be a 2.5" cat pipe.. And for all the trouble the muffler was a lot quieter than i wanted..ended up building an h pipe and running to 44series flowmasters!!!

And it turns out the kit was universal but you had to order it by exit location..... Boiled down to if you turned the rear half of the tail pipes one way theyd go straight out back other way was side corner exit which is what i wanted but they ended up damn near straight out the sides. Think when i get the tailpipes for it bent im gonna get both of them run out the same side... Dont have a spare so it doesnt matter as space under the truck is not an issue

Wow that is some craptastic exhaust!
I hope you did that with spare pipe and didnt pay for that.
All those pipe size and angle changes at the weld points probably makes for a very raspy sound.

My first attempt looked very similar and it sounded like ****. Ended up doing it all over again a week later with proper sized pipe and fittings.

I have to agree with ezdaar.... After having time to actually look closely at those pics of your exhaust.... Ummmm who made that ory??? So i know not to buy one... I hope that o2 is a rear one that has been tuned out anyway, that has absolutely no exhaust getting to it.... I dont think theres really too many pipe size changes persay but it could have been flared better.... The intermediate pipe going into the muffler could have been expanded to help with the transition instead of that gumball weld that looks like is on it... On a side note i m actually contemplating doing something stupid, more for functionality that form.... Taking my old ypipe from my 5.3 cutting the y off after the cats, running my new cats into it.... Going to the local scrap yard and getting the same piece (pipe after cats where they straighten out and go into the flange) along with both sides of the flange and essentially turning the end of the ypipe and beginning of intermediate pipes into a bolted together x pipe of sorts.. I need to draw a diagram or photoshop what i mean, i think i tend to lose people trying to explain it.... Not sure if it would be worth the effort but it would be a cheap easy, fun way to fix a clearance issue im kinda having with my exhaust at moment over the bastardized trans crossmember my 99 has....

the ory pipe is a jegs and had the exhaust guy weld a sleeve in since he fixed it because it leaked. and as for the muffler he welded a piece of pipe inside the inlet then welded it to the stock piping. and the pipe only drops down a 1/4 inch from stock. stock is 2.75 and the new pipe after the muffler is 2.5 its a little raspy when cold but that's it.
