Default NBS 04 4.3 to tbi or carb 350

Hi I'm new, long time looker but first time poster. I'm wondering if anybody has swapped a carb'd or tbi 350 into a nbs Chevy or GMC. I wanna get the v6 outta there but I'm worried about all the tuning and what not for a 4.8/5.3 so why not a tbi 350 ? And parts are super cheap and easy to find, any information will be gladly accepted!

Also I found some 241 ls1 heads, will those bolt up and run right if I were to swap a 350 in?

A tbi gen 1 350 is a completely different animal from a 4.8/5.3 LSX series engine. If you are interested in swapping to an old school 350, look up screen name silveradomykk or something like that. He has a badass gen 1 swap he can probally give you a few pointers on

And to answer the above question, no, 241, 243, 862, 806 or any head that looks like the above numbered heads will not fit a gen 1 small block chevy

It is far easier and cost affective to swap in a 5.3. Since the truck comes with a 5.3 from the factory. Plus why go backwards. The LSx will be more efficient and make more power.

I agree.. If you already had a built SBC to drop in, maybe I would understand. But since you are starting from scratch no matter which you choose, I do not see the SBC saving you anymore money than the LS. Not enough to warrant the swap at least.

So in conclusion, the 5.3 swap is the easiest? I've read the official swap thread already but I'm still timid about it

It is very easy to get a 5.7 into the truck with Mexican market motor mounts for that chassis. 5.7 swap is by far easier than a 5.3 in that truck. Not much more difficult than finding a 5.7/4L60e setup from a 96-02 Van or 96-2000 SUV or 96-99 OBS truck and dropping it in on the mexico motor mounts. Add 2 wires to the harness and repin to an 0411. You could also get the Red/Green PCM reflashed with the 1 meg 5.7 calibration.

So from what your saying sound like the factory 4.3 motor mounts won't work for the 350?
Also what about if one could find a harness and 0411 ecm off an 01-02 van can the swap be accomplished that way?
