Back pressure is like a myth.

It's not something you need/want on your V8.

“Best” will depend on your idea of loud, and what tone you are hoping to achieve. Flowmaster offers two different American Thunder Cat-back systems for your truck. There is the moderately aggressive American Thunder cat-back system that features dual rear or side exits behind the rear tires (#817428), or the slightly more aggressive American Thunder Cat-back with dual out, same side exits in front of the rear tires (#817395).

Both of these Flowmaster systems fit 2 and 4 wheel drive models with an Extended Cab and short bed configuration only and feature kit-specific Super 40 Series mufflers, high quality mandrel bends and are constructed from 409S stainless steel. Our stainless steel exhaust systems are covered by Flowmaster’s lifetime limited warranty.

If you would like to get an idea of what these kits sound like, pop on some headphones and listen to these videos.

If these kits will not fit your truck or if you would like to build your own custom exhaust, the videos above will also give you a pretty good idea of what the Super 40 Series muffler will sound like. If you would like help finding the right exhaust for your sound preferences and vehicle application, give us a call at 707-544-4761.

You may be interested in the Super 40 Series mufflers. The Super 40 Series mufflers are some of our most aggressive mufflers in terms of sound level, but also offer a deeper tone than the other 40 Series mufflers. However, running true duals, dumps, or both will affect the volume and tone of your exhaust system.

If you have any other questions or would like help finding the right muffler for your sound preferences and your vehicle application, give us a call at 707-544-4761.

I had FM on my 99 sierra and got quite a bit of drone in the cab at 65mph, switched it for a hooker aerochamber lost he drone but lost sound until wide open throttle, I think a bullet muffler would be the best for loud without the drone from a large bodied muffler

We've got a single DeltaFlow 40 on our Durango and it gets nothing but compliments.
