Default Milling 243 heads and Small shot of nitrous

Ok, so I'll have my heads in this week and hooefully get them off to be milled in a week or two, but as I'm doing some last minute checking I want to know if I will see any benefits from milling the heads .030 and using a .040 thickness head gasket, or would it be the same for me to mill the heads .022 and run a stock .051 thick gasket, I know if I mill .030 and use the .040 gasket my cr will be around 9:9:1 and if I milled .022 and use a .052 gasket I'll be closer to stock compression 9:5:1. What's better and where would I see more output hp and or tq wise?

Also, plan on doing my own polishing and maybe porting the heads for a little better flow, don't know if that will come into play at all.

Thanks.

Would help to know your goals to really make a recommendation. Also what motor are you putting them on???

9.9:1 would be a better NA application and cam will respond better to more compression and a tight quench.

Ok, right now the truck is a 05 rcsb 5.3(lm7). The cam I had speced and have for it is 221/221 .575/.575 on 108 lsa. Plan on adding 100 to 150 shot in the future. But nothing more, also will be getting a built trans and 3600-4k stall. Want the truck to show nice gain with the head/cam swap but still would like it to be able to be a DD, and perform nice at the strip if I'd like it to. But mostly for street.

Let me put this in the Nitrous section and see what people have to say over there.

I believe the higher compression will also work with that set up.
