Mild 5.3 truck build questions

What would guys recommend for a lq9 crew cab 4x4 with a small cam? I was looking at a lunati .217/.223 .549/.549 lift 113 lsa, lunati .222/.228 .567/.567 lift 113 lsa, or a tsp 220
1 & 3/4 or 1 & 7/8 primaries on the longtubes?
Just wanting more all around power and still tow some

Really? I was even toying with going with 35"s because i feel like the 33s are a little bit too small. I dont want to sacrifice that much performance lugging around those huge things though lol. Only so much gearing can do.

FWIW I have about the most miles on a stock 4L60e out of anyone I know of before it checked out. Mine lasted 198k miles and I wasn't easy on her then again I never did tow and I have a lot less weight in a RCSB 2wd. About the worst it ever saw was running a 14.3 @ 95 at Darlington one night.
You can put a converter in on stock gears. And you can tow with a converter on stock gears. You can even tow with a cam and converter on stock gears. I'm betting you'll regret it the first time you hook up to that trailer and move it around the yard. My friend had a very similar setup, 99 ECSB Z71 with LQ4 swap, TSP 220 cam on a 112 and a circle D 3200 on stock gears and 33" tires. Loose was an understatement when it came to the converter while towing. I'm telling you this because I watched my buddy spend thousands on his truck only to be upset with how it drove.

Lol that 5.3 will be in a bind with 35"s and 3.42s. Towing a race car to boot?! That 4L60e will die a quick death.

You'll need a lot more throttle input to accelerate at a normal pace. The RPMs will stay higher at lower throttles making the truck feel 'disconnected' from the driveline. It's hard to explain but trust me you'll know exactly what I mean the first time you hop in and put it in gear.
My FTI 3200 is going in this weekend with a built trans and my custom headers. I'll post up my thoughts and a video if I can get it tuned over the next few days.

dang that sucks.. maybe i'll just tell my wife i tore my rear end out and have no choice but to spend the $1,200 on 4.11s lol. like you, i have a gem of a 4l60e too. im currently at 176k on the original trans and shes super healthy.. when me and my buddy were tuning it and ran it hard numerous times, the temp never went over 180, and thats with a stock cooler.. i ordered an aftermarket 20k cooler from tsp with my cam and going to put it in when i do my stall and cam swap along with some amsoil trans fluid... it'll be interesting to see how long i get out of my stock trans.. after she goes i'm just going to rebuild it with a stage 2
