Default LT headers do I need a tune?

I have a 09 sierra 5.3 looking at headers. LT TSP headers are on sale right now. Going to grab them with the y-pipe. Do I need a tune to run them? If I weld the rear o2 sensor back in will that fix throwing codes. I do plan on getting some motor work done (cam etc. ) but not for a bit. I will tune then. But would it be bad to install them now and not tune even if I weld in a02 bung for the rear o2. Thanks.

The rear 02 will throw the code if the car is removed. You don't NEED a tune but its advised!

So even if I were to weld a bung in and put the 02 back in. Since the cats are gone it will throw a code no matter what is what you're saying.

Yes, the rear 02's will still throw a code if installed and the cats are removed. They have to be turned off in tune.

Alright, thanks for the info guys. Would it be bad to run with no tune for a few months? I know when I buy them now I'll want to put them on asap, or should I wait for tune.

save them for when youre ready to pay up for a tune, this way youre other mods and the headers work together and youll really feel a difference

I personally dont run my vehicles without being tuned

There should be an added sentence to OPs post: if you dont actually tune vehicles, don't reply. Internet myths abound regarding tuning. For those who WOULD NOT run without a tune. Please give a logical reason WHY you would not. Thanks.
