Default LS7 lifter

Why do I see such a difference when pricing 16 LS7 lifters?

Example 25341990 at Coloradospeed 109 vs 169 at sdparts.

Prepping for dod delete on '08 5.3.

Beats me.

I find the best prices on ebay. Last I saw them for $90 for 16 lifters. The guy that sells them as sold over 1,800 sets.

On some sites i see them listed stating it's the same lifter used in LS2 and LS7 17122490 (single lifter).

Are the eBay ls7 lifters in a bulk pack loose in a bag or boxed in gm box?

Edit: looking on eBay looks like difference is Delphi $ vs ACDelco $$
ACDelco's in individual cute little boxes.

Anyone have experience why I should go with the more expensive ACDelco's? If ones lesser quality I'd rather not chew cam, etc and make more work and costs down road.

well I ordered some for $112 2 weeks ago from amazon. they came in a shitty torn up box that looks like it should have have been used to ship 1980's surplus soviet gun parts. No label on it and soaked in oil. the lifters were very banged up and had some cardboard debris inside some of them. only two of the 16 actually had numbers stamped on them.

I returned them and got the same part number from the dealer. they came in a AcDelco box individually packaged separately. these look a good deal better, they all have numbers stamped on them but 5 of them have a small nick somewhere on the roller surface you can catch a nail on. I haven't decided if I'm going to use them or not.

That's funny but not really on the bulk set.

Disappointing to hear the boxed ACDelco's still weren't perfect. Wondering if it would be wise to order two boxed sets, inspect them, make a complete good set and send back the others.

Any chance you can send some pictures of what your seeing?

Bought lifters (GM LS7 PN:12499225 ) and guides for $115 on ebay. Have not had any problems. The seller states "New genuine OEM GM Lifters in plain packaging" on the seller notes. What can you expect. I actually took all the box pieces out and dumped some oil in the bag the night before I installed them (which you should be doing with lifter installs). I inspected the rollers and they were fine, guides too.

I bought the 25341990(Old Part #) which is now 12499225, they came with my DOD kit from Texas Speed. I did notice BTR sells the GM OEM ones, 12499225 for $185 and the Delphi ones X12499225 for $99. I wonder what the difference is.

I am going to do a did delete soon. In my opinion it is better to spend a little more on a part that is so time consuming to get to. I will be using comp cam lifters they are about $200

I agree, better to spend a little more up front and have the piece of mind than to be worrying every time you go for a spin.

Do you have a part #?

I'm planning on doing my delete this summer or sooner.
