Default Lq9 pistons

I Just picked up a 2006 LQ4 that needs a rebuild. My cylinders look great, so I am looking to swap in a set of used lq9 flat top pistons to make it into a an lq9. I am wondering if i put in a used set of pistons if i should have the rotating assembly balanced. Thanks

Also if anyone has a set for sale I would be interested.

Yes the main difference in the lq4 and lq9 was that the lq9 came with flat tops. In all honesty i was be very catious with buying used pistons to put in a rebuild. Is this something you want to get 200k miles out of or do you plan on power adders? Its ultimately up to you but i would say save a little longer and get new pistons/rings. Its hard to know if the ring lands are good in used pistons unless you know exactly what your looking for. Yes i would always have the rotating assembly balanced on any rebuild.

Always can buy new lq9 pistons on eBay etc. They aren't that expensive.

I have seen the pistons on ebay, I just didn't know if the quality was there.
