well there's a old thread on ls1tech.com on how to make 500rwhp and most of it is getting a good head and port job along with a good speced cam.

read it all

alright thanks for all the input, I was afraid 400fwhp was just out of reach without cracking into the motor,

well only other way without cracking the motor is a tvs1900 on top

I know every one talks crap on the GM Hot cam but look at this write up i found seems it's a nice cam for the money and 50hp is not to shabby! Put that and a nice muffler headers small converter and spray it easy over 400 to the wheels.

It only picked up 28 HP @ peak, not 49. However, doesn't look like they retuned it. Not sure you'd see similar results in a 5.3L with smaller bores, smaller valves, and less compression.

Hot cam is a waste of money, There's a lot better cam choices out there for not much more coin.

Default What about a 4x4

Does all of this go for 4x4 also I look to lift my 08 Sierra and still want a good amount of power saw something online saying if I do a toss intake and fast 95mm throttle body and combo cam 54-454-11 with the comp 26918-16 roller kit and it will give you 100 hp any truth to this I need moooorrreee powwweeeerrrrr
