Look at my plug
So I've been having cylinder 1 misfire, random misfire etc. Just pulled motor apart for dod delete and #1 plug looks awesome. I figured it was lifter related to start with but my lack of knowledge want
s to know what caused this? Pistons have flakey carbon all over them as well. Oil is changed 5k with Mobil 1 full synthetic. Is this oil consumption related? Pic is #1 plug and combustion chamber. Truck has 175k on it.

Cylinder one is a DoD cylinder so oil burning is the most common issue. It's hard to say how long it took for the build up to occur if you still had DoD working up the point of you taking it apart.
Normally the oil makes it way past the piston rings or the valve seals and gets burned off.

I'll get pics of other plugs and heads when I get home later this morning. I found that chart and I did use some fuel injector cleaner trying to sort out misfire. I'm getting dod turned off. Obviously gotta spend a little time cleaning heads.

Here are the heads and the #3 plug. All the plugs look good except #1. Other 7 plugs don't have ash deposits on them. Hopefully I can get it all cleaned and buttoned up soon. I'm excited to hear it. I had Stock48 spec me a cam.

Ehhhh, nothing out of the ordinary, the #3 plug looks "ok" but I would put some new ones in the heads look ok as well. Might be worth the money to strip the heads and send them over to the machine shop and have a "cleanup" done one the sealing surface to ensure a flat sealing surface
