It's a completely stock LQ9 out of a 2005 Escalade EXT with 64,000 miles. Got it from LKQ. If the computer from a similar vehicle will work I'll go that route for sure. The only place near by that can do tuning is in Tallahassee FL at SS Performance but it'll be a week before they can do it I am sure.

What year is your truck?

Another stock computer may or may not work. Need to know what year your truck is though...

Then you could try a computer out of another truck but You will probably need to relink the VAT's do to the vin number being different.

If you had software and a cable you could upload a stock stock LQ9 tune to your vehicle and not have to worry about things.

Maybe see if they have a bench flash cable.

The shop where we're doing the doing the work said that we can do that using the VIN from the vehicle. He has the capability to do that, so I will go that route for now until I can take it somewhere and have it tuned. I just know that the tune that's on it now for the cammed LM7 won't cut it.

Are there any differences in the intake, fuel rails, fuel injectors, and throttle body between the LM7 and LQ9? Both engines are a 2005 and are drive by wire throttle body.

No there is no difference in what you mentioned above between the 5.3 and 6.0

If it where me I would just run your 5.3 tune until you can get it retuned. As I said in post #3, I ran my truck for 3 or so months on the stock 5.3 tune with no issues.

Justin with Blackbear just emailed me and said that the stock 5.3 tune is safer than the stock 6.0 tune due to ignition timing but my only concern is that my truck is tuned for the cam so it's not a stock tune; I'm not sure if its safe driving it with the modified tune?... Well got the truck running today. It's a beast now! No check engine light and everything seems to be functioning just fine. I'll have it re tuned ASAP though.
