L96 swap performance help
I've searched and researched but figured I'd make a thread for my particular situation.
I've got a 09' gmc crew cab 4x4 that has a bad LH6 (DOD lifter failed) and needs a motor. I've bought a 2011 L96 with 58k and plan on swapping it in and deleting the VVT and tuning out the DOD from the trucks ECM.
I've got:
Patriot 225/229, .582/.589 on 114 LSA (I have comp 918 springs but could upgrade if needed).
Texas speed long tubes and Y-pipe (NIB) and flow master muffler
3000 circle D stall for the 6L80 (NIB)
Airaid CAI
And I plan on a full tune.
I plan on using the LH6 front cover and the cam gear I already have for the cam.
My problem is I can not decide if I want to stay with the L92 intake and heads or go with the LH6 243's and intake.
The truck has a 3.42 gear and I've thought of 4.56's but that could come later..
The truck will be a DD with possibly some weekend tow duties but nothing major. I'm also not wanting a race truck but want to get the best performance I can, with what I've got.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I've got the cam in a 2008 4.8 currently and was going to use the cam gear for the 4.8 when I pull the cam.
What cam specs would be ideal for the motor?
I know the L92's will need a different cam than the 243's, but figured the patriot cam would work.
I've also got a Tr224 cam in storage that was in my 317 headed LQ4 that was in my 78 C10 when it ran the 12.87 in my Sig, if that would be better...

It's a really hard question to answer without more detail... sounds like you aint afraid of a big *** cam though if that was in your 4.8 lol.
If its a daily driver the cam I would run would look something like this:
219/226 on a 114+3.
I've always been somewhat conservative with my cam selection though. You have the toys... why make this one an animal when it will never be THAT fast. If you get a little chop and great broad power out of it I think it will be great to drive. I'd bet a cam like that takes you to a low 13 with the converter and it will be tame enough to let anyone get in and drive it anywhere. Probably about a 6200 rpm shift cam.

And I said earlier its a DD but that's not exactly correct. I have a car I drive to work and I usually DD the 78, I like the look on Peoples faces when you drive the C10 camming its a** off..lol

Well I pulled the trigger on leaving the L92 heads and intake and adding the Patriot 225/229, .582/.589 on 114, comp 918 springs, with the Texas Speed & performance longtubes/Y-pipe (y-pipe still needs fabrication to fit), Circle D 3000 stall also a airaid CAI. I put the motor in Saturday and cranked it yesterday. Idles fine but needs a tune badly! I'll update when I get it tuned.
