I just spent 10 min listening to the motor very carefully No abnormal noise at all no knock no ping nothing that I can hear. Thats all the time I had for diagnosing I am about to go drop it back off at the shop.

The code youre getting isnt a knock issue anyway, its a sensor or circuit problem, especially with as random as it is!!

Ok good thats what I wanted someone to tell me! There is alot of bad information out there about P0332 mostly on other forums.

Now I have read that it if the code stays on for an extended period of time it could put the truck into limp mode.

Also I forgot to mention that 3 weeks ago I rerouted and replaced my fuel evap canister because It was clogged with mud. I highly doubt they would be related in anyway but that was replaced recently.

No it won't put your truck into limp home mode. I have had a P0332 for a while now. It's common with our trucks, especially if you still have a stock intake like I do with that foam piece that allows water to collect. My engine runs no differently. Just a bad sensor or sensor harness is all.

Glad to know it won't put it into limp mode if the issues wasnt resolved.

The shop changed the sensor again for free and I have put aboout 20miles on it so far without the light coming on. If I make it to work and back tomorrow without the light coming on I guess it will have passed the test.

I Knew the evap system has nothing to do with it. Just seems like things like to go wrong one right after another.

Was P0332 the only code present? I ask cuz an improperly torqued knock sensor can give false readings(too tight and it can be too sensitive and road vibrations can be detected as knock, too loose and the sensor itself bouncing and vibrating the slightest bit in the threads can throw knock codes as well) and set codes as well(not P0332).

I think you might be right that they torqued it improperly. I put 70 miles on it today and 10-15 ignition cycles with no check engine light so I believe the problem was cured! Yayy Thank you guys for the help last thing I wanted to do was have my motor blow up in the middle of South Dakota lol.

It won't blow up. It just pulls timing and the mpg goes down a little bit.

That's the thing with electronics. Sometimes there bad right out of the box, sometimes they last 5minutes, an hour, a day, a week, or even a month and then they crap out.

You never know untill you install it.
