IAT Sensor Relocate with Pics
Today I relocated my IAT Sensor to the Intake pipe. I removed the 2 wires from the factory MAF connector and spliced in a Delco pigtail connector. I drilled a 1 inch hole in the Intake pipe and installed a Delco IAT sensor. On the initial test drive I noticed a very quick response to temp change on the scan tool. I will need to do more testing to determine real world results.
Connector: AC Delco PT307 GM 12102620
Sensor: AC Delco 213-243 GM 12160244
Grommet: GM 14054892
Wires in MAF, My truck is a 2007 LY5. Check schematic for your specific application. Terminals D and E. Tan, Tan/Black wires are for the IAT sensor.
This is the best hole saw set on the market. A little pricey $$$$!
Here is the Factory Sensor and Connector.
Stock before install.
Hole drilled, Grommet and Sensor installed. I ended up using a different Grommet than pictured. GM part number 14054892 fits the best on a curved pipe.
Wires removed from MAF connector.
I used GM crimp and shrink connectors. I like these because they have a sealing glue that comes out when heated.
This picture shows the GM factory parts installed. A perfect fit.
Finally I covered the wires in conduit. I try to make any mods that I do look factory.

The AC Delco pigtail connectors come with the shrink connectors. They are also available at specialty electronic stores. Out here in So Cal I get them in bulk from Jeran Products. Made by Auveco. If you are doing any electrical repairs these are the only butt connectors to use. The regular stuff from Home Depot, etc. is junk.
