so the pacesetter package, lt/ory is overkill for a bolton 5.3? what is serious hp in your terms?

...Over 500hp at the flywheel, and even then you'll likely have other restrictions that will be greater than the 2.5" pipes.

I've put 600+hp through 2.5" collectors....a 5.3 will have NO PROBLEM breathing through them

Very good info. I am looking at possibly doing headers and long tubes seem to be the way to go.
I have a 2007 k2500 classic. Lq4, CAI, nbss intake, 87mm tb, x link, electric fans, basic tune, hi flow muffler to duals. nv4500, 4.11 gears and 305/70/16s. DD and tow rig 24' camper.

I think headers will help it breathe better. I was worried about the drop in back pressure from long tubes/ cat delete.
I just installed the intake and am impressed with the gains so far without tune on stock injectors. Do you think after the header install I'll need bigger injectors? Usually the camping trips involve traveling through Colorado. I think 243 heads and a cam swap would be good mods too. not to that point yet.
