Default Head bolt stripped

ok guys as i was bolting down the heads to the block i managed to get all the 1-10 studs down to torque spec (using ebay studs)but when to got to torque the 11-15 studs i noticed that stud #13 would not tight down the studs goes all the way but when i torque the nut the studs pops up like the treads are not holding. so my question is there anything i can do to fix the problem.. maybe putting some type of paste on threads to hold the bolt down. or can i run it like that without water going into the oil. its only that stud that i am having trouble with all the other studs are torqued to spec.when i pull the stud out the threads do not have no metal shavings nor does it look cross threaded. head studs are for pre 04 blocks.

Have you tried removing an installed one and compared the diameter on each? Or swapped studs around to see if you get the same result?

Measure the OD of the stud in question, and post a macro photo of the hole in question.

Probably going to need a helicoil in there. I would not run missing a stud.

Your parts stores should have an M8x1.25 Helicoil kit in stock. I run the commercial sales department for an Advance Auto Parts and I know for a fact that we have them on the shelf.

It can be. Heard about it on North Stars, DOHC 4.6s, some Hondas and have done it on a Saturn.

Its not usually install error, as most of the time I read about this (and the time I had done it) was on removal.

Can just be one of those things that happens. Cant tell when, there are no warning signs. Just happens.
