1FastBrick,
Thanks for the info, I appreciate it.

It spun one bearing, second from the rear.

I'm hoping its still useable. What would make a non useable core?
If the cam bearing spun and gouged the journal it may not be useable. As well as if it removed too much material.

Even though the cam bearing is softer than the block, it can still do damage.

The LS engines have different sized cam journals so they can't be line honed like a traditional block.

Ok, well. I ran my fingers around every journal and didn't feel any scores, grooves or wear patterns. I'm feeling a little better about this block now.

Is there a way to line hone them other than the traditional way?

Thanks for the info and help, I appreciate it.

Line honing is just that honing everything to be straight in line.... A good machine shop can hone the cam journal if it needs to be and possibly install and over sized bearing in it

Hopefully everything will be good to go.

Now I just need to find some time to bring it to the machine shop, he's about 2 hours away.

Haha tell me about it.
There are a few local but, none I felt comfortable with. I don't mind the drive to get good service.
