opinions on how to change fuel pump in quickest and cheepest way.
post up how and what was easiest for u to swap out your going fuel pump.
drop tank?
remove bed?
etc?
what pump, got from where, etc.
it just so happens that mine is on its way out and i also just filled up yest and got around 20gals in my tank.
aint that a bitch, just my fn luck

how the hell do i know if my truck is (v)without evap. emissions, with module code tcu?
looking at this one pump on ebay, not sure if i can use on my truck though.

fkn local parts houses want over 300$ for stocker replacement.
would rather go with cheeper assembly or even upgrade walbro intank.
any writeups for walbro upgrades?

Cut a hole in the bed over the pump, you have access to get the pump out. I was not going to take the bed off to do it, after dropping the tank first time around( and I have a lift), I felt that it was much easier to cut a small hole over the pump to remove it... I can pull the pump out in less then 10 mins... What year truck do you have??

00 rcsb 4.8, first time the pump has ever gone out.
i have the access mod on my fbods. but never thought about on my truck. i was thinking that taking the bed would be easier in my driveway. with it being easter wkend and all my uncs shop is closed and i cant get to use any of his tools or lift.

my tank is full, im a pretty big ****, but theres no way im wrestling that tank by myself

there will be a canister (cylinderish thing) hanging on the back off the tank near the axle if you have evap.

i dropped the trank when it was about half full and im about 260 and bench near 400 and ill just tell you that job friggin sucked. if it was empty it wouldnt have been as bad, but it still sucked. if you have a couple (or 3) friend that can help you take the bed off then its just like 6 bed bolts, disconnect the tailight harness, and filler hose and the bed comes right off.

i loosened the bolts on the passenger side, removed the bolts on the drivers side and just raised up the drivers side of the bed and used something to hold it up when i replaced mine. didnt have to pull the bed all the way off or drop the tank

For a few dollars the OEMs could install a removable plate over the pump in the bed. The pumps don't fail that often, but if you hate dropping the tank or lifting the bed cutting a hole is an alternative.

loosen all the bolts take the couple on the tank side leave ther other ones in and tilt the bed its the way i did it then u dont have to cut no hole or drop the tank took me about 45 to change my pump
