First post and a little bit of my slow build
From a completely stock 2004 CrewCab Z71, Gen 3 5.3L (LM7), 3.73 G80.
Done already:
6 inch suspension lift
Rims, tires
Tinted windows
Back up camera with double DIN Kenwood head unit
Esky handles
2006 Hood, painted bumper cap
Sandblasted and painted to match rear bumper and new
Plastics
Demoulded
Painted mirror caps
HID's, LED bulbs
BlackBear traditional tune
Corvette Servo
New OEM replacement taillights
Recently added:
Speed Engineering Long tubes and y-pipe fabricated to a true dual exhaust (1 3/4 diameter, ARP header stud kit, replacement OEM gaskets)
Removed flowbaster and replaced with 2 1/4, 16 inch long Dynomax race bullets
Tru-cool 40K with Perf. Trucks.net resourced install kit- absolute precision, quality fit and recommended👍
To be installed
Tomorrow..........
1) Motive Performance ring & pinion for the
8.6 rear (4.56 ratio)
2) Yukon axle seals and bearings
3) Yukon differential carrier bearing and race set
4) Motive ring and pinion installation set
5) Detroit Tru Trac
6) TA Performance Girdle
7) 75W90W gear oil non-synthetic as required by Eaton
8) New Denso left and right bank Oxygen sensors nearest to the engine. Drove with open headers to exhaust shop, and Justin from BBP realized that they were in need of replacement. Lesson learned; Don't drive with open headers and O2 sensors installed
9) BlackBear AutoCal and a tune for the headers
Can't wait for the 4.56 gears to see if it'll help with the off the line Performance and the Tru Trac. I'll be easy for the first 500 miles, and the run Lucas non synthetic gear oil.
Added some photos of the soon to be installed parts.
After some data logging and getting a tune from Justin at BBP the truck sounds and feels amazing. Is there a way to shut off the CEL light without the two downstream O2 sensors? Justin was totally right about this not affecting Performance, but the light is annoying.
The best Performance from all this is Justin's magic making the 5.3 Gen 3 a strong runner. The tow haul
Mode is insanely powerful

That'll be done early next year. Since the beginning of ownership, I haven't used 4 wheel drive yet. Comp Cams (216/222 @112 lsa), valve springs, pushrods, new OEM water pump, gaskets, and a Circle D 3000 rpm stall converter are next.

Internal mods, not yet. Pretty much bolt ons such as a cam, push rods,
valve springs, etc. I drive mostly city. 80% of driving in Hawaii is stop light to stop light.
I was told "don't fear the gear" and that LS motors love the higher Rpm's.
