Default Fbo cam stall 4.8 or 6.0 swap?

I have a 2006 regular cab silverado. It has tune, 4.11 gears, fbo. And I Want to get a cam & stall but it's almost the same prize as getting a 6.0 swap. What would be better and if I get the 6.0 swap could I use the same harness from the 4.8?

If you get the same year 6.0 you should be able to swap the long block straight across no problem. It will be a dramatic increase in torque and topend power. It also allows you to add a stall and cam later on if you get bored.

Thanks, and is there a difference between the vortec max 6.0 and the escalade 6.0? Or is it the same? I might be asking a dumb question its cause I don't really know much about the 6.0 engines.

Depends on the year. The vortecmax is an L76 I believe. Some escalades have the LQ9. Other options exist including the L76.

I have been in your exact same shoes! I had a 224 cammed 4.8 with a 3600 stall, blew up the 4.8, dropped in a lq4 and the lq4 stock long block was .6 faster than the cammed 4.8. The shear torque that these trucks need just can't be made with a 4.8

Take it from me, Ive been there done that. 07 classic Sierra single cab 4.8. 220r cam, 3200 circle d stall, longtubes, 4.10s, tuned, put down 302/288. It was kinda fun I guess, but really never felt that strong. I went single turbo, and drove it untuned like an idiot. Blew it up. Swapped in an lq9, longtubes, and tune, same stall and gears. Same dyno put down 343/375. I wish I would have listened to everyone that said swap a 6.0 I would have been way happier. Everything from you 4.8 will swap over no problem. Just spend the money on the lq9/Vmax motor. You will be much happier.

I love my 6.0 vs my old 4.8.
