Thank you for the link. If I hadn't seen your thread, and all the positive feedback, I'd still be "on the fence" debating whether to get some.

Now that I know these are 1 5/8" headers, time for me to upgrade. I always ASSUMED they were 1 3/4" primaries. Now I have the truth. Time to hunt down a set of 1 7/8" headers. I'm calling stainless works in the morning to see how their 1 7/8" headers are coming along.

Since, they have been on the truck for 5 years and not rusted, I'm gonna say it is some aluminum sheet I cut them from.

I have no idea what that webpage is trying to say, cause primary tube sizes have always been called out in i.d. of the tube, not o.d. Hell, they're even trying to say to use 1-1/2"(!!!!) primaries for a 300hp 350.

Think about it. How do you have a constant measuring stick across the spectrum of various header manufacturers if everyone uses a different thickness material for their tubing. Sure two companies may have the same o.d. of 1-3/4" but if the material thickness is different between them, then the i.d. will be different and the subsequent performance between them if used on the same engine will be varied.

Long story short, primary tube sizing is supposed to be the i.d. of the tube.

It looks like they'd have to be quite a bit longer to go over the topside of that pipe.
