crank timing gear removal

Default crank timing gear removal

hey ive tried searcing around for this but i cant find anything on removing the crank timing gear on my 5.3. im gonna be starting to buy everything to get this motor moving along so i can get it in my truck and want to change out the gears and chain. any suggestions on removing the crank gear?? or does anyone even change it at all??

you can use the same puller for the crank pulley, or pry it off with a big screw driver.

thats what i thought about doing but wasnt sure about using the pulley puller...thanks man
