Default "cold air" intake for 09 escalade , but with dry filter?

Can't believe I'm asking about "cold air" intake......I always have visions of coffee can mufflers and 2 story wings along with it..... anyways I don't care to spend $200/300 on a pipe hose clamp and filter, and I after my last oiled filter, I really don't want that either. Do you guy's have any suggestions? I'm fine with the ebay one (like $115 I think) maybe a different filter, or where to buy. Thanks

Some guys buy the air raid tube and bolt it up to the stock air box with a K&N filter. My buddy is broke and built one out of 4 or 5" PVC tube, painted it black, and stuck an Autozone filter on it.

I have a K&N and wrapped it in thermal insulation. It's not the prettiest thing but it does help during 100+ degree weather.

Dry vs oil filter I don't really know the difference other than the oil filter might trap/catch debris a little better. Have herd some stories of camaro guys having their MAF ruined by the oil.

Yea, maybe I always used too much oil, but it always coated the inside of the tube with oil, so I would end up taking the intake off and cleaning it a few days after.

You could always use an AEM dry folw filter. They sell a replacement panel filter or a cone type they use in their brute force kits. I lucked out and found a used kit for my truck on eBay for a hundred bucks.

I have the Airaid MIT. Keeps the stock box and filter but gets rid of the Medussa like stock intake tube and chambers.

The truck air boxes, especially the later models are pretty decent. It's the air tube that creates flow problems. I use an Airaid MIT too. The kit I bought came with a dry drop in filter.
