Unless its an 04 flex-fuel. 04 only flex fuels are on the frame rail, then flex-fuel went to fuel tank in 05.

alright guys well i got the code read...just as onstar told me. No specific problem, just left and right bank running lean. I think its gotta be water in the gas. Despite my car is running fine...what do yall think?

Usually the code is pretty specific instead of just saying lean in both banks, did they give you the code itself? p0XXXX?
Could very well be water in the gas. Might go ahead and change your filter just to rule that out. As stated its inside the frame on the driver side, just behind the door a couple feet.

Usually the codes are P0172 and p0174. And a lot of times the intake tube could be leaking, the maf dirty, and on trucks with a lot of miles the intake gasket could be leaking. Spray some carb cleaner around the base of the intake and see if any thing changes.

alright guys, lots of stuff to check tommorow...about 1 week ago i did pull my filter and clean it, maybe ive got some debris on my MAF sensor, i will try to pull that and clean it. Im also gonna change my fuel filter since i have one to change. My truck runs perfectly fine, so its not a big deal other than, i HATE HATE having my CEL light one. It just reminds me that my truck is getting old haha. Thanks again for all yalls help.

Anyone know how much a fuel filter is gonna cost?

Great to hear.

I changed the filter for a woman at work over the summer. she had never changed it. When I took it off the fuel in it came out looking like muddy water.

p0171 is lean bank 1, p0174 is lean bank two. I would check the intake gaskets, common problem.

Quick Reply: check engine light for left and right bank running lean.
