Cam Swap? 2500HD
#11
Sorry, I can't answer that one. I would call the shop and ask the guy who designed it, I hear they are great to talk to, excellent customer service. Or get lucky and find someone who has ran it and maybe dyno'd it. Without swapping your converter, I feel the bigger question to ask yourself when choosing a cam swap is how much power are you willing to lose at lower RPM.
Hopefully someone will respond with actual experience. Let us know what they say if you do call. I'm planning to do the same thing with my 5.3 this summer, either the BTR stage 1 or the cam motion 5.3 drop-in stage 2.

I am plopping an Isky Triple 12 ( 212/212, 112 LSA, .565") into my 05's LQ4 for fun. It's a 4.10 geared 1500HD and I am not touching the stock 180000 mile 4L80E. The stock stall is around 2600 ( tested it many times) but the converter is a turd.... power sapping POS. I really wouldn't put a big cam in..... you want to drive the thing and actually have it usable right? Most junk is overcammed in the hopes of making some big numbers at an RPM you never do anything with. Should have it done fairly soon as I am just waiting on parts and then I want to dyno it. Probably going to do a TBSS intake ( I have one and an X link doing nothing) and maybe 1 3/4" long tubes... but that's it.
I will toss a 221/221 112 into my LQ9 maybe before it goes in my 1990 K5 Jimmy and that should still be decent. That said I am not going to have the stock converter behind it either nor will it have stock heads and only 9.4:1 compression.

Then go with a smaller more torque oriented camshaft. Putting a 224 or something in the truck is just going to attempt to make power at an rpm you will have no use for.... not to mention this cam has no trouble pulling to around 6000 rpm.... what more do you need lol.
