cam and stall for 85 c10 5.3
I've got an 85 c10 I'm looking to get a good combo for.
Currently its a 5.3 with 862 heads and ls6 can stock stall in the 4l60. Manifolds, stock truck intake and cable throttle body. 3.73 gears 27.5" tall tires. Daily light truck, I haven't weight it but I was told 3100 but I believe more around 33-3400lbs.
My planned mods are longtubes, 3" exhaust with h pipe, and a taller heavier tire(22" billets, 29-30" tire). All other things are negotiable. My goal is a fun driving truck that has an aggressive idle but still drive able.
I would like an idle around the quality of a 220/220 like I've had before in a 5.3. Stall at least 3200. Not more than about 36-3800.
My last modded 5.3 truck had 1 3/4" headers 3" magnaflow, circle d 3200 trailblazer convertor, 4.56 gears on 32" tires. Stock heads and cam. It ran and drove good just needed a cam.
Sorry I was a bit long winded just wanted to put as many details as I could think of to help with suggestions.
This is the truck as it sits currently

Doing so light weight it can be speced very aggressively. Make sure and get a good transmission cooler. I think a triple disk with a loose 3400 stall speed would be a ton of fun. Cam wise I would go the tried and true 224/228. I would suggest gears for those heavy wheels and larger tire. It will feel sluggish other wise.
