Deleted the DOD in my 09 ccsb 5.3 after i dropped a lifter. Used a comp cam 216/220 on like a 114lsa iirc. Ran great! Took it on several road trips and still got decent mpgs ~13.5 with 33s.

Took the yukon on a 5 hour one way road trip for thanksgiving and monitored the v8/v4 switching modes majority of the way, i may as well delete it because it stays in v8 mode most of the time even when cruising at 75-80 mph for extended periods of time!!! And when it does switch back to v8 mode my "monitored" instant mpg drops down to damn near single digits everytime!!! Also noticed i have no cruise control.... Which sucks on that long of a trip, i am going to try to figure that one out next week sometime, thinking its stuck brake switch......

Look at the column stock as well for the cruise issue. I have heard some have had to replace it to get the cruise to function again.

Has anyone used melling lifters??? I know their oil pumps are good, typically, havent heard much on their lifters though, i ask because i can get a 4 pack of them for about $10 a piece...... $40 for all 16 lifters, $15-40 for cam sprocket, $7 a piece for lifter trays, and at that point im just debating on vvt or not and which cam to use.... Kinda think at this point i wanna stay single bolt cam and go with a vvt setup, so its basically just a matter of which cam....and where can i get the vvt harness, or is it a simple make a harness deal???

The Cruise is in the switch on the column, is it not?

That's what I was referring to. Women really like cruise control... It's not uncommon to wear out the contacts in the switch. If it was the brake switch, The brake light's would be on.

I have also heard of the brake bulbs with the wrong resistance cause the issue as well. LED's or cheap bulbs that get corrosion inside of them during manufacturing.

No its the 07 up steering wheel mounted cruise control, ive replaced 3-4 brake switches that were sending brakes applied signals to the cruise module that didnt allow cc to engage, mostly on nnbs suvs!! Ive seen bulbs play hell with more than just cruise control!!!
