A decently well built 60e will hold it but for how long is the question. They are real hit and miss with most people. You can do an 80e swap cheaper than a built 60e if you buy a good used one and a budget circle D converter. It's a really simple swap. Especially with the crossmember that a guy sells on here. I'd never go back after I put my 80e in. The peace of mind is worth it's weight in gold.

There was a guy with a single cab a few years back that went by Blue Cajun on here that ran a tr220 (basically the same cam) with a 3600 stall, Nelson tune and Comp 918 springs and ran mid to high 12's with 4.10's and slicks shifting at 6600 I think. The stock intake manifold falls off too much to shift higher than that tbh.
Okay so would 3600 still be good for a daily driver?

The main thing will be how much it will cost me to do the entire swap. What's this guy's user name? Wouldn't I also need a swap harness for the 80, and what else?

4L80e swap isn't too expensive or hard.
- 4L80e $400
- Crossmember $155
- Nelson harness $90
- Slip yoke, needs to be shortened 5/8" $76.95 Chevy and GM 3R Series Transmission Slip yoke for TH400 with long tailshaft housing
- U Joints (2) Dana Spicer 5-795X $24 ea
- Transmission Filter WIX 58608 $24
- 4L80e Drain plug 24213991 $4
- 4L80e Oil Pan Gasket 8677743 $41
- 14 quarts of transmission fluid ~$100
- Circle D 278mm Converter $550
- PCM Segment swap

All said and done it'll be around $1500. Be sure your transmission has the shifter cable bracket because the one from the 4L60e won't work.

Thanks for the info! But where are you finding a 4l80 for 400? Also does the year of the tranny matter? I'll start looking into those parts aswell.

Also what do you guys think about putting a tbss intake on while I'm at it, any good write ups out there?

Found mine on craigslist from a wrecked 2001 2500hd 6.0 Silverado. I know of another one for sale at $400 here in Oakland. Not sure if you ever come up here. You'd want a 1998 or newer as it has the provisions for the prndl switch. Might want to order one of those too as the connectors are glued into the switch. I'm going to be replacing mine as I have no reverse lights.

Additional Parts to consider:
- PRNDL switch $42
Amazon.com: ACDelco D2263C GM Original Equipment Park/Neutral Position and Back-Up Lamp Switch: Automotive Amazon.com: ACDelco D2263C GM Original Equipment Park/Neutral Position and Back-Up Lamp Switch: Automotive

- 6AN Adaptors $12
6 An x 1 4 NPS 4L80E GM Transmission Oil Cooler Adapter Fittings 1997 2007 | eBay

I would get all 90* an fittings due to clearance with the 80e. And maybe an extra one in case you break one. My cousin broke one and it was a whole lot of fun trying to find one before the weekend ended. lol

Should be a nice set up.

If you're interested I could help you out with a cam and tranny. Check out my FS thread.
