Default building a 5.3L 323

looking to build my 01 GMC Sierra Step-Side, i currently have a power chip on the engine, a DiabloSport Predator, Flowmaster 44 series cat backs, and a K&N Filter. I am getting a GM ASA Camshaft, Polished and Ported Trick Flow Heads, Shorty Headers, Sniper NOS kit, and a throttle body spacer. I'm running about 410 HP right now, and plan to get about 700 and ideas???

For starters welcome to the site, just so you know if your current mods are Diablosport, exhaust and intake then you are not making 410hp. You may want to do a little bit more research on cams, the ASA cam is no where near optimal for a 325ci motor in a truck. That cam is too big, also forget about the throttle body spacer as it is a waste of money. A good set of heads and a properly sized cam will help out tremendously but you have to plan out what you want to do. How high of a stall speed do you want to run torque converter wise? Plan to build up the transmission also.

I've seen a 5.3 dyno 394 rwhp NA but it was in a Miata.

Heads will do wonders for you, ditch the 5.3 heads for some 243s if your on a budget. If you can afford it then some aftermarket cnc heads would be even better, getting the engine to breath should be done first.

idk if you are joking or serious lol.

So you only have a diablosport right now, cai and exhaust on a 5.3L? If so there is no way you have 410HP even to the flywheel. You would need a cam swap, LT headers and free flowing exhaust to get approx or close to the 400 hp at the flywheel number with a 5.3L, especially since you have an older 5.3L (nbs). If you had a NNBS gmt 900 2007+ truck it would have the better heads and intake manifold that typically give 20-25 more HP.

So if you get the cam, heads, headers, custom tune, built trans would be needed if you want nitrous at this point also, you would need a 300 shot of nitrous to reach 700hp.. And that would prob be at the flywheel. Also you would need a huge *** stall 4000rpm or higher lol.

So if you are trying to get 700hp out of a 5.3L you will need some sort of Forced Induction like a Turbo or Supercharger. You could also use spray + FI as well.

im not joking, my truck stock has about 320 HP and the chip i put on added aproximately 30-40 HP, the DiabloSport added anywhere from 25-30, and the exhaust added about 20 HP, the filter added about 12.5 HP, and i can spin my tires from 20 MPH all the way through 50 MPH im not joking about my 400-410 HP

what chip did you "put on the engine"? So your saying that two chips Are in your truck? And that from tuning you gained 55 to 70 horse? I'm sorry but I don't know that a custom live tune would even do that. And exhaust and a filter are not going to gain 32.5 horse.

So you are saying you are running a chip and tune? Who makes this chip? You may feel that way about the HP but trust the people here when they say you are not making those HP #'s with those mods. You are not going to gain 55-70hp from computer modifications on a basically stock motor.

You are right because no tune is going to do that with those mods.

he is obviously trolling, with my cam swap and free flowing exhaust I prob only have 410 hp to the flywheel myself lol.
