I would have to have aluminized here in Ohio.

In my experience, aluminized does nothing to prevent rust. Stainless or go home IMO.

Gotta be stainless in the North East and areas with similar weather...I've seen aluminized turn into swiss cheese...

Summit sells stainless y pipes also, I think they run about 45 bucks. My headers any ory are stainless but the rest of my exhaust besides the muffler is all aluminized. Then again I live in east Texas and don't have to worry about inclement weather I agree about DMH's customer service though, it's great. He even offered to send me a new y pipe for the cutout if this one became to much of a PITA so he's a good guy and really takes care of his customers. Can't go wrong with them.

I really think it's my exhaust killing the crackle of the cam. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not looking for stupid loud exhaust, and I don't want any drone. I'm wondering if the single 3" in muffler is causing it to cancel out the sound I'm looking for?

Another thing you could do is get an adjustable timing chain and advance that cam 2*-4*... that will increase the overlap and help with the idle choppiness your wanting.... Far cheaper and easier than swapping a cam in...

this is mine with a lq4 with a 224/224 on a 112 yours has more compression than mine and compression kills lope..

just from my experience i wouldnt go with a bigger cam just for the sound.. if it runs good and does what you want dont touch it.

I had this discusion in the build thread with PatG, and was advised against it, due to an increase in dynamic compression.
