Anyone replace springs with BTR's and reuse stock lifters/ pushrods?
Hey guys, last night I installed BTR .660" springs on the truck, along with BTR 7.400" pushrods. I measured the stock LM7 pushrods with my 12" Starrett caliper and they actually came in at 7.390" and the BTR 7.400's were actually 7.420"
I started the truck up and the valvetrain is a bit noisier... sounds kinda like a lifter tap. I'm thinking maybe the stock LM7 145k lifters aren't up to the task? Truck does feel like it picked up power though lol.
I reinstalled the stock 7.390" pushrods and things are a bit quieter, but not as quiet as stock... remember I still have a stock cam in the truck.
Are the BTR duals noisier or have my stock lifters seen better days? All the research I've done says that using a 7.400" pushrod on an LM7 is totally fine. The BTR duals on my Vette don't tap like these do. I'm considering going with the blue stripe Z06 single springs. I was really hoping not to pull the heads...I want to just run this LM7 til it pops then do an LS2 based setup.
