Default Water Pump Pulley Is To Far In? What to do???

So i bought this water pump thinking it would solve my problems on my ls intake swap. Well now that i have it all together i realized its sucked in about 3/4" and my belt slips off. Can i pull this out a little bit or do i need another new water pump? If so which pump should have I got? Please help asap!!! I've got a show this weekend and would really like to take my truck. I just need to be able to pull it on and off a trailer. thanks!

PS its for a 4.8L engine in my 01 silverado and here is the new pump i have:

AFAIK the truck water pumps are different. You have to get one for the truck engines to get them to line up. The one you have is for an LS1.

well the truck one wouldnt fit because the pipe coming out of the top was interfering with the throttle body. I know i've seen people use different water pumps on intake manifold swaps to solve this problem but i didnt know how the addressed the pulley situation or if there is a different water pump where the pipe comes out in the front instead of the top.

you have to get the waterpump from the newer trucks that has the inlet going straight out on it

I have seen people make spacers to go between the water pump and block, in order to run the car water pump.

I did a search for Water Pump for you so you can read the thread on doing the LS intake swap. Everything you need is on this thread.

thanks for the info. I searched for about an hour or two yesterday trying to figure it out but couldnt find any info on the car pump. I did see numerous threads on modifying the truck pump but i was trying to find out about the car.

I have read people stack 3 sets of factory gaskets to space the pump out enough.
