Default Another lost torque / header thread

So I finally got those D*** pacesetters in last week and I have noticed I have lost most of my UMPH from a dig. before I could stomp it at a light and chirp, now I cant even break the tires loose on wet pavement (unless turning onto the highway... ehhh) My butt is telling me something is wrong and I need to know how to get it back.

2002/3 Tahoe 5.3 installed headers and y pipe, rear o2's deleted, no cats. I am all tuned up for this set up. I do have my stock muffler on but it felt this way without the muffler on aswell. Actually I had little to no getty up and go without the muffler on. I am throwing the occasional p0153 and p0178 since i installed the headers. I figure the 0178 is a coincidence and the 0153 is because I had to extend the wires on the 02 because of new fitment issues.

to get most from headers you need to be tuned for them

I installed ARH 1-3/4 Longtubes with catted Y-Pipe along with a 3"Corsa Sport catback and lost a little lowend under 2200-2300 rpm it seems. But above 3k the headers really make a difference. So I installed 4.30 gears and my low end is better than before and is perfect for towing.

I've been looking for a 4.11 r/p but can't seem to get my hands on one. I need 50 posts or so to be able to write a thread on the classifieds/ wtb sections

It will help alot. I had 3.73s and went to 4.30s and damn, wish that was my first mod. Seems like I gained 50 hp. Really helps with torque transfer. Also helped keep my trans temps down, better fuel milage around town. Maybe 1-1.5 more mpg.

Dancing along the edge of your rpm range while shifting through gears is different than stomping on the throttle and causing a large transient change. Probably needs timing and/or fuel adjustments.
